The Lightning Sphinx's Magic Vitamin

Mia loved thunderstorms. She would press her nose against the window, watching the sky light up with dancing bolts of lightning. One rainy afternoon, she spotted something extraordinary—a tiny creature with lion paws and eagle wings struggling in her garden gutter.

Mia rushed outside and discovered it was a miniature sphinx, no bigger than her cat! The little creature's golden feathers were soaked, and its wise eyes looked sad.

"I'm Sparky," the sphinx squeaked. "I came from Egypt to find the legendary Lightning Vitamin, but I'm too weak to fly home."

"What's a Lightning Vitamin?" Mia asked, cradling the shivering sphinx in her towel.

"It's magic dust that falls during the perfect lightning storm!" Sparky explained. "One taste gives sphinxes the power to grant wishes. But I must catch it with a pure heart."

Mia's eyes widened. A wish-granting sphinx! But seeing Sparky so frail made her forget about wishes. "We'll catch it together!"

They waited until the biggest lightning bolt flashed—BOOM! Sparky held up a tiny crystal jar, and Mia pointed it toward the sky. A sprinkle of glowing purple dust floated down like snow, landing right in the jar.

"You did it!" Sparky cheered, swallowing a pinch of the sparkling vitamin. Instantly, the sphinx grew strong again, golden feathers shining.

"What will you wish for?" Mia asked, expecting treasure or magical powers.

Sparky smiled. "I wish for the best friend ever—and that's you!" The sphinx sprinkled some Lightning Vitamin on Mia's forehead. "Now you'll always have courage when you need it, just like lightning in a bottle!"

Mia blinked. She didn't get magical powers or riches, but something better—a forever friend and the knowledge that kindness was the strongest magic of all.

Every thunderstorm after that, Mia and Sparky would dance in the rain, collecting Lightning Vitamins together. And Mia discovered that real magic wasn't in wishes at all—it was in helping friends, even tiny sphinxes found in the rain.
