The Lightning Sphinx's Gift
Barnaby was a small bear with very big dreams. Every night, he would peek out of his cozy cave and watch the sky paint pictures with clouds.
One evening, a spectacular lightning storm lit up the forest. Barnaby had never seen anything so beautiful! Each bolt of lightning danced across the sky like glowing ribbons. Drawn by its magic, he wandered deeper into the woods than he had ever been before.
There, beside a shimmering pool, stood an incredible sight—a magnificent sphinx made entirely of crackling lightning! Its eyes glowed warm like golden honey.
"Welcome, little friend," the lightning sphinx spoke in a voice like gentle chimes. "I am the guardian of this magical pool."
Barnaby's eyes grew wide. "You're made of lightning! Does that hurt?"
The sphinx laughed, and sparks danced around them. "No, dear one. Lightning can be scary, but it can also be beautiful. It's all about how you look at things."
The pool began to glow with rainbow colors. Inside floated a single golden berry.
"This is the vitamin of wonder," the sphinx explained. "It helps those who eat it see the magic in everything around them—the ordinary becomes extraordinary."
Barnaby gasped. "Really?"
"But there's a catch," the sphinx winked. "You must promise to share what you learn with others. Magic grows when it's given away."
Barnaby nodded solemnly. "I promise!"
He ate the berry and suddenly the forest came alive with magic. Flowers sang soft melodies. Tree leaves told ancient stories. Even ordinary rocks sparkled with hidden beauty.
Barnaby hurried home and shared his gift with all the forest creatures. Soon, the whole forest was filled with wonder and laughter.
And sometimes, when lightning storms came, the lightning sphinx would visit, teaching Barnaby new secrets about the magic of seeing the world with a heart full of wonder.
The best part? Barnaby learned that the real magic wasn't the vitamin at all—it was sharing joy and wonder with friends.
