The Lightning Soup Adventure
Lily stared at the orange vitamin on her spoon. It looked like a tiny piece of the sunset, but she knew it would taste like yucky orange medicine.
"I don't want it!" she said, pushing the spoon away.
Outside, rain fell in silver sheets. Water splashed against her window, making little rivers race down the glass. Then—CRACK! Lightning flashed purple and white across the sky. Lily gasped as it zigzagged like a giant glowing crack in the universe.
Suddenly, something magical happened. A tiny bolt of lightning—no bigger than a firefly—squeezed through her window crack and landed right in her vitamin spoon!
The lightning sizzled and spun around the orange tablet. POOF! The vitamin began to glow golden. Smoke puffed out like birthday candles, and when it cleared, a tiny creature sat on her spoon.
He was made of crackling yellow light, with sparkles for eyes and a lightning bolt tail that flickered like a candle flame.
"I'm Zappy!" the creature chirped. "And you're supposed to take your vitamin! It's not yucky—it's MAGIC!"
Lily blinked. "Magic?"
"Your grandma gathers these from the Cloud Gardens," Zappy explained. "Each vitamin holds a tiny piece of sunshine. But you have to take it with water to unlock the magic!"
Lily's eyes widened. She dropped the glowing vitamin into her water glass. The water turned golden and swirled like a tiny galaxy.
Zappy drank a sip and grew bigger. He did a happy dance on the windowsill, leaving little sparks wherever his feet touched. "This water tastes like rainbows and melted sunshine!"
Lily took a sip too. It tasted like... like catching fireflies in a jar. Like finding a perfect skipping stone. Like the first snowflake of winter on her tongue.
"It's delicious!" she exclaimed.
From that day on, Lily never complained about her vitamins. She learned that sometimes the most boring-looking things can hold the most wonderful magic—if only you're brave enough to try them.
And sometimes, when the lightning flashes during a storm, Lily waves. She knows Zappy is dancing in the clouds, reminding her that magic is everywhere, waiting to be discovered in the most unexpected places.
Now Lily takes her vitamins with water every morning, wondering what tiny magic each one holds inside.
