The Lightning's Tiny Gift

Maya loved thunderstorms. Every time the sky rumbled, she pressed her nose against her bedroom window, watching the clouds dance.

One summer evening, the strangest thing happened. A bolt of lightning flashed purple instead of white, and it struck the sandbox in Maya's backyard. CRACK! BOOM!

Maya waited until the storm passed, then tiptoed outside in her yellow rain boots. The sand was still smoking slightly. In the center, something glimmered.

She reached down and picked up a tiny golden pyramid, no bigger than a walnut. It fit perfectly in her palm. The miniature pyramid had strange symbols that sparkled like tiny stars.

"What are you?" Maya whispered.

Suddenly, the pyramid grew warm against her palm. A soft light pulsed from its tip, and Maya gasped. She could see pictures in the light—a desert with real pyramids, a jungle with colorful birds, and even underwater cities!

The tiny pyramid was showing her the whole world.

Maya ran to her best friend Leo's house next door. "Leo! Look what the lightning brought me!"

Leo's eyes went wide. "It's magic!"

Together, they discovered that when they both touched the pyramid at the same time, the pictures became even clearer. They spent hours exploring different places through its golden glow.

"We should share this with everyone," Maya said suddenly. "Magic like this shouldn't be kept secret."

So they showed their classmates, their neighbors, and even their teacher. Everyone saw something different in the pyramid's light—their own dreams and wishes.

That night, Maya held the tiny pyramid in her palm again. She realized something important: the lightning hadn't just brought her a gift. It had brought her a reminder that the best magic is the kind we share with friends.

Sometimes the most wonderful things come from the most unexpected places—even from a purple lightning bolt in your own backyard.
