The Lightning's Secret Gift

Maya hated lightning storms. They cracked and flashed across the sky like giant firecrackers. But one rainy afternoon, something magical happened.

As lightning split the sky, Maya pressed her palm against the window glass. Suddenly, a tiny face appeared on the other side - not a scary monster, but a glowing creature with silver scales and enormous green eyes. It smiled and tapped back with its own small palm.

"I'm Splash!" the creature bubbled through the glass. "Want to see where lightning goes?"

Before Maya could answer, the room filled with sparkling light. When the sparkles cleared, she stood in a secret cove where papaya trees grew with glowing purple fruits. The papayas hummed with musical notes, and when one fell - *ping!* - it created ripples of golden light across a swimming pool that reflected stars even during daytime.

"These papayas only grow where lightning touches the earth," Splash explained, diving into the magical water. "Come swimming! The lightning made this special place just for brave hearts."

Maya dipped her toes in. The water felt like liquid sunshine, warm and tingly with tiny sparkles. Splash zoomed around like a living firework, creating trails of rainbow bubbles. For the first time, Maya wasn't scared of lightning anymore - she was grateful.

"Every lightning storm, this magical cove appears," Splash said, floating a glowing papaya toward her. "But only kind people can find it. The lightning chooses its friends carefully."

Maya bit into the papaya. It tasted like sunshine mixed with stardust and chocolate cake.

"Will you come back?" Splash asked, eyes twinkling.

"Every storm!" Maya promised, pressing her palm to Splash's tiny hand. "You're my best friend now."

When she blinked, Maya was back in her room, holding a small purple papaya that still shimmered with lightning magic. Outside, the storm didn't seem scary anymore. Instead, Maya smiled. Lightning wasn't just noise and flashes - it was nature's way of creating magic, and now she knew exactly where to find it.

The papaya sat on her windowsill, humming its gentle song. And Maya knew that with courage and kindness, even the scariest things could become beautiful adventures with new friends waiting to be found.
