Lily loved her iPhone more than anything. It held her favorite games and hundreds of photos of her golden retriever, Sunny. One stormy afternoon, Lily walked Sunny through Oak Creek Park. Rain poured down in silver sheets.

CRACK!

Purple lightning split the sky. Sunny barked at the thunder, nudging Lily toward the big oak tree. But Lily's iPhone slipped from her wet hands.
