The Lightning Pyramid's Secret

Maya loved stormy nights. While other children hid under blankets, she pressed her nose against the cool glass, watching the sky dance. Tonight, the lightning flashed brighter than usual, drawing her outside into the rainy garden.

There, in the middle of her grandmother's vegetable patch, something incredible appeared—a tiny golden pyramid, no bigger than her lunchbox, glowing with captured lightning. As Maya reached out, the pyramid hummed, and a spark shot toward the old oak tree.

From behind the tree stepped a magnificent bull made entirely of starlight. His eyes held the wisdom of ancient constellations, and his horns curved like crescent moons.

"I am Orion," the bull said softly. "And you've found the lightning pyramid. It has been lost for a thousand years."

Maya's eyes widened. "What does it do?"

"It powers the cable that connects all the stars in the sky," Orion explained. "Without it, constellations cannot talk to each other, and the night sky grows lonely."

But the pyramid was fading. The lightning inside was dying. "How do we recharge it?" Maya asked.

"You must give it something precious," Orion said. "Something that comes from your heart."

Maya thought. She looked at the beautiful pyramid, then at Orion's kind face. She thought about how much she loved watching storms, how the lightning made her feel brave and alive.

"Take my courage," she said, touching the pyramid. "Take my wonder."

The pyramid flared brilliantly, swallowing her words. In that moment, Maya understood—true magic isn't about keeping things for yourself. It's about sharing what makes you special with the world.

The golden glow returned, brighter than before. Orion lowered his magnificent head. "Thank you, little friend. Your gift will keep the stars talking forever."

He touched his nose to her forehead, and Maya felt a warm tingle, like sunshine on a cloudy day. Then, with a flash of lightning, both the bull and the pyramid vanished into the night sky.

Maya looked up. The stars twinkled brighter than she'd ever seen them, and for just a moment, she could hear them whispering, faint and sweet, like silver wind chimes.

"You're welcome," she whispered back, and went inside with her heart full of starlight.
