The Lightning Pyramid's Gift
Maya clutched her dad's old iphone as she sat on her bedroom floor. It was a rainy Saturday, and the screen glowed with a mysterious game she'd never downloaded. A golden pyramid spun slowly, and when she tapped it, the room filled with purple light.
Suddenly, Maya wasn't in her room anymore. She stood in a desert under a sky full of twinkling stars. Before her rose a magnificent pyramid that shimmered like captured moonlight. But this wasn't like the pyramids in her books — this one hummed with energy, and tiny bolts of lightning danced around its tip.
"Hello!" called a small voice. Maya turned to see a boy about her age with skin that sparkled like the night sky. "I'm Leo. Are you here for the Lightning Festival?"
Maya nodded, her heart beating fast. "I think so. My iphone brought me here."
Leo grinned. "That's no ordinary phone — it's a Friendship Compass! It only works for kids with pure hearts. Come, the pyramid chooses its guardians during lightning storms."
Together they climbed the glowing steps. Maya had never felt so brave, especially with a new friend by her side. At the top, the pyramid's tip pointed upward just as a massive lightning bolt cracked across the sky.
"Make a wish!" Leo shouted over the thunder.
Maya closed her eyes tight. "I wish for all kids to have a friend as brave and kind as Leo!"
The lightning struck the pyramid, but instead of hurting, it filled Maya with warmth — like drinking hot chocolate on a snowy day. Golden sparks swirled around them, forming the shape of two hands holding each other.
When Maya opened her eyes, she was back in her room. The iphone screen showed one new message: *Your wish has been granted. True friendship is the greatest magic.*
The next day at school, Maya noticed a new girl sitting alone at lunch. Remembering Leo's bravery, Maya walked over and introduced herself. The girl's name was Luna, and she loved stars just like Maya did.
As they laughed together, Maya's pocket buzzed. A tiny lightning bolt flashed on her iphone screen, and she knew: some magic is real, especially the magic of friendship.
