The Lightning Pyramid Race

Maya loved rainy days. She loved how the sky turned dark and mysterious. She loved how the rain made everything smell fresh and new. But most of all, she loved watching lightning dance across the clouds like nature's own fireworks.

One afternoon, while running through her backyard to catch raindrops on her tongue, Maya spotted something strange. In the garden, where her grandmother's flowers usually grew, stood a perfect little pyramid made of glowing crystal.

"Grandma! Come quick!" Maya called, running toward the house. But before she could reach the door, the pyramid hummed a soft tune. Maya stopped running and crept closer.

The pyramid pulsed with gentle purple light, and tiny lightning bolts swirled around it like fireflies. Maya gasped in wonder. This wasn't scary at all—it was magical!

"Are you lonely?" Maya whispered. The pyramid flashed brighter. Maya's friend Leo lived next door, and he always said magical things needed friends. Maya grabbed the pyramid—it was warm, like holding a kitten—and started running toward Leo's house.

"Leo! Leo! Look what I found!" Maya shouted, running through the rain. When she showed him the pyramid, Leo's eyes grew wide. The pyramid glowed even brighter with both of them nearby.

"It likes having friends," Maya said. "Just like us."

That afternoon, they watched lightning together while the pyramid sat between them, flashing with every bolt. When their moms called them inside for dinner, Maya carefully placed the pyramid back in her grandmother's garden.

"Will it stay there?" Leo asked.

"Only if we promise to visit it together," Maya said. "Magic is best when shared with friends."

And every rainy day after that, Maya and Leo would sit by the glowing pyramid, watching lightning paint the sky together, knowing that the best magic isn't just in the wonders you find, but in the friends you share them with.
