The Lightning Pyramid Quest
Maya loved swimming more than anything. Every summer day, she'd dive into the cool blue water of Crystal Lake, imagining it was an enchanted kingdom beneath the waves.
One afternoon, while munching on spinach leaves from her garden (her superhero food, she called it), Maya noticed something peculiar. A bolt of lightning had struck the center of the lake during last night's storm, and now something golden glinted from below.
"What if it's magic?" she whispered, remembering her grandmother's stories about the Lightning Pyramid – an ancient treasure that granted one wish to pure-hearted children who found it.
Maya dove into the water, her spinach-powered energy making her swim faster than ever before. Deeper and deeper she went, past curious fish and waving seaweed, until she saw it – a magnificent golden pyramid resting on the lakebed, still crackling with tiny lightning sparks!
But something was wrong. A tiny cavefish was trapped inside, its scales dull with sadness. Maya could have made her wish – for endless ice cream, or to fly, or for every swimming trophy in the world. Instead, she gently freed the fish.
"Your heart is true," the pyramid hummed, and suddenly Maya felt lighter than air. She could breathe underwater! She and her new fish friend explored sunken ships and secret coral castles all summer long.
When school started, Maya kept visiting her friend. She'd even pack extra spinach sandwiches, sharing them with the lake creatures. Some adventures, she learned, are better than wishes – especially the ones you share with friends.
