The Lightning Pyramid Mystery
Lila and her best friend Toby loved exploring the old attic on rainy afternoons. Today, the sky flashed bright with lightning outside as they dug through dusty boxes.
"Look at this!" Lila cried, pulling out a bright orange kite shaped like a pyramid. Its sides shimmered like gold dust.
Toby's eyes went wide. "That's not a regular kite. It's magical!"
A long silver cable trailed from the pyramid kite. Toby gave it a gentle tug, and suddenly, the attic floor rippled like water. They weren't standing on wood anymore—they were beside a glowing blue pool that sparkled with tiny stars.
"Where are we?" Lila whispered.
A small silver fish popped its head up. "You've found the Pool of Wishes! But only true friends can use it."
More lightning crackled across a purple sky above them. The orange pyramid kite began to glow, pulling them toward the mysterious pool.
"What do we do?" Toby asked, squeezing Lila's hand.
"Make a wish together," said the fish. "The same wish, with all your hearts."
Lila and Toby looked at each other and nodded. They closed their eyes tight.
"We wish to be best friends forever!" they shouted together.
The silver cable connecting them to the pyramid kite suddenly sparkled. Lightning bolts of pink and green swirled around them, filling them with warm, happy feelings.
When they opened their eyes, they were back in the attic. The orange pyramid kite lay between them, now ordinary fabric. But somehow, they both felt different—connected by something stronger than before.
Outside, the rain stopped. A rainbow stretched across the sky.
"Friends forever," Lila promised, hugging Toby tight.
And somehow, they knew some magic was real—the kind you find inside your heart.
