The Lightning Pyramid

Maya and Leo were the best of friends in the whole neighborhood. Every day after school, they'd race to the old palm tree behind Maya's house to play their favorite game — padel, using their rackets to hit a ball against the tree trunk.

One cloudy afternoon, as they were playing, Leo's racket knocked something loose from the palm tree's branches. A small, golden pyramid fell to the grass with a soft thud.

"What is it?" Maya asked, picking up the mysterious object. The pyramid glowed warmly in her hands, covered in tiny symbols that seemed to shimmer and move.

Suddenly, the sky darkened. Lightning flashed across the clouds, and as the brilliant light illuminated their yard, the pyramid responded — it began to hum and pulse with golden light.

"It's magic!" Leo whispered, eyes wide.

The friends watched in wonder as the pyramid projected images into the air — children from long ago playing together, sharing, laughing. They understood. This wasn't just any pyramid. It was the Friendship Pyramid, appearing only to true friends who valued each other.

"What do we do with it?" Maya asked.

The pyramid's light grew brighter, and they suddenly knew: it wanted them to make a wish. Not for toys or treats, but for something that mattered.

Maya and Leo looked at each other and spoke as one: "We wish every kid could have a friend as wonderful as ours."

The pyramid flared with golden light, then became an ordinary stone. But as the first raindrops began to fall, Maya and Leo noticed something amazing — in every nearby puddle, for just a moment, they could see pairs of children laughing and playing together, all over the world.

The storm had passed, but something magical remained. The palm tree seemed to stand taller, and Maya squeezed Leo's hand.

"Best friends forever?" she asked.

Leo grinned. "Best friends forever."
