The Lightning Pool's Magic
Lily had the most extraordinary hair in her entire class. Every morning, it changed to match her dreams. One day it would shimmer like ocean waves, the next it would sparkle like stars. But on this particular summer afternoon, her hair glowed with all the colors of a rainbow.
She was skipping to the old swimming pool behind her house when she noticed someone sitting by the fence. It was a new girl named Mia, watching the water with wide, curious eyes.
"Hello!" Lily waved, her rainbow hair streaming behind her like a colorful comet tail. "Want to see something magical?"
Mia nodded shyly. Together they approached the pool, which wasn't just any ordinary pool. This was a magical pool that showed reflections of things yet to come.
Suddenly, storm clouds gathered overhead. CRACK! Lightning flashed across the sky, striking the water and turning it into sparkling diamonds. But instead of being afraid, Lily grabbed Mia's hand.
"Don't be scared!" she said. "The lightning is just waking up the magic!"
The pool began to glow, and inside it, they saw something wonderful — themselves, older and still best friends, having adventures together.
"We're going to be friends forever!" Mia gasped, her ordinary brown hair suddenly twinkling with tiny lightning bolts.
The storm cleared, and a double rainbow appeared over the pool. Lily's hair changed again, now matching Mia's newly magical hair. They realized that magic didn't just live in pools or lightning — it lived in friendship.
From that day on, they were best friends, and sometimes, when they visited the pool together, they could still see the magic waiting for them, just beneath the surface.
The magic lesson Lily learned was simple but true: The best kind of magic isn't found in lightning strikes or magical pools. It's found in the heart of a true friend.
