The Lightning Pool's Magic
Emma loved summer storms. While other children hid inside, she pressed her nose against the glass, watching the sky dance with light.
"One day I'll catch a lightning bolt," she whispered.
Her best friend Leo shook his head. "Lightning is too fast, Emma. And too hot."
But Emma had a secret. Behind the old oak tree, in the deepest part of the woods, there was a hidden pool she'd discovered. It wasn't like normal swimming pools—this one glowed faintly blue, and the water felt warm even on cold nights.
Tonight, during the biggest storm of the summer, Emma dragged Leo through the rain.
"Where are we going?" Leo called over the thunder.
"To the magic pool!"
When they arrived, something incredible happened. Each time lightning flashed across the sky, a tiny glowing stone would appear in the pool. *Flash!* A blue stone. *Crash!* A purple one. *Bam!* A golden stone.
"They're beautiful!" Leo cried, forgetting his fear. Together they waded in, collecting the magical gems as they appeared.
Emma had an idea. "Let's make something with them!"
They arranged the stones in a circle around the pool's edge. When the last stone was placed, the entire pool began to shimmer. Suddenly, the water lifted up, forming shapes—dancing horses, soaring birds, roaring dragons—all made of glowing blue light.
The children laughed and danced with the light creatures. The storm's lightning wasn't scary anymore. It was giving them magic!
As the storm passed, the light creatures faded, but the stones kept their glow. Emma and Leo took one each, promising to return next storm.
"Not all lightning is destructive," Leo said, putting his glowing stone in his pocket. "Some of it brings magic and friendship."
Emma smiled. "And some friends are brave enough to discover it with you."
Now every storm becomes an adventure—and the best treasure is finding magic together.
