The Lightning Pool Magic
Emma loved her grandmother's backyard pool more than anything. Every summer day, she'd swim until her fingers wrinkled like raisins. But Grandma had one strict rule: "No swimming during storms. Lightning and water don't mix."
One afternoon, Emma found something glittering at the pool's bottom. She dove deep and grabbed an old iPhone encrusted with pretty sea-glass beads.
"That belonged to your grandfather," Grandma said, helping Emma dry off. "He always claimed it was magical. Said it could call lightning spirits."
Emma giggled. "Phones can't do that!"
But that evening, as thunder rumbled and lightning flashed like nature's fireworks, the iPhone lit up by itself - not with a normal screen glow, but with sparkling rainbow colors.
Emma carried it to the back door. Outside, the pool water shimmered with every lightning flash. Tiny glowing creatures - lightning sprites! - danced above the surface, laughing like wind chimes.
"Grandma! Come quick!" Emma shouted.
Together they watched in wonder. The iPhone showed strange symbols that matched the sprites' movements. Emma pressed the screen toward the glass door.
The sprites noticed! One tiny sprite, no bigger than a firefly, flew right to the door and blew a sparkling kiss. The iPhone's screen burst with golden light.
"They're thanking us," Grandma whispered, eyes wide.
The lightning sprites performed the most magical show Emma had ever seen. They created rainbows in the rain, played tag with lightning bolts, and made the pool glow like liquid diamonds.
When the storm passed, the sprites faded away. The iPhone dimmed, showing only an old photo of Grandpa by the pool.
"He wasn't kidding," Grandma said, wiping happy tears. "Some magic is real, Emma. You just have to believe."
Emma hugged the phone tight. The best adventures aren't just in storybooks. Sometimes magic happens right in your backyard, when you're brave enough to watch.
That night, Emma dreamed of lightning sprites and glowing pools. She couldn't wait for the next storm - and neither could the magical iPhone.
