The Lightning Pool Magic
Emma sat by the edge of her pool, watching her golden retriever Buster paddling around. It was a hot summer afternoon, and thunder rumbled in the distance.
"Come on, Buster!" Emma called, but the dog just kept swimming in circles, nose pointed at the sky.
Suddenly, a crack of lightning split the air — purple and green, not the usual white-yellow. It struck right in the middle of the pool!
Emma gasped. Instead of scared, Buster looked excited. He paddled to the spot where the lightning had hit and started barking happily.
The pool water began to glow. Emma pulled out her iPhone to record what was happening. The screen showed sparkles floating up from the water.
"This is impossible," she whispered, but her imagination was already racing.
A small green creature popped up from the glowing water. It looked like a tiny dragon made entirely of spinach leaves!
"Spinach magic!" the little creature squeaked. "You saved me!"
Emma looked confused. "I didn't do anything."
"Your dog did!" Spinach Dragon explained. "He swam in the magic lightning pool and broke the spell that trapped me. I'm the guardian of garden magic!"
Buster wagged his tail so hard that water splashed everywhere. Emma laughed and reached out to touch the friendly creature.
"Thank you, Buster!" Emma hugged her wet dog. "But why spinach?"
"Because spinach makes you strong!" the tiny dragon giggled. "And true friends make you stronger than any vegetable could."
Emma's iPhone battery had died, but she didn't care. Some magical moments were better kept in your heart than on any phone screen.
That night, Emma served spinach with dinner, and Buster got an extra treat. She learned that magic lives in unexpected places — like lightning storms, swimming pools, and the friendship between a girl and her dog.
