The Lightning Pool Game

Mia and Leo loved playing padel at the old park near their homes. The court had cracks in the concrete, and the net was a little saggy, but it was their special place.

One afternoon, dark clouds gathered overhead. CRACK! Lightning flashed across the sky like a giant zipper opening the heavens.

"We should go home!" Mia called, gripping her padel racket tightly.

But then they saw it—behind a cluster of overgrown bushes, a shimmering pool had appeared. It hadn't been there before. The water glowed with an otherworldly blue light, and every time lightning struck, ripples of silver spread across its surface.

"It's beautiful," Leo whispered.

Mia stepped closer. The pool wasn't just water—it was like a mirror showing another world. She saw herself flying on a dragon's back. Leo saw himself exploring a castle made of crystals.

"Do you think..." Mia started, "if we touch the water with our padel rackets, something magical might happen?"

Leo nodded, eyes wide with wonder.

Together, they dipped their racket heads into the glowing pool. ZING! A beam of light shot up into the storm clouds. The lightning stopped striking randomly and instead danced around their pool in patterns—like a light show just for them.

Suddenly, they understood: the pool was a gift from the sky, appearing only during storms to share its magic with curious children who weren't afraid of the dark.

"We have to protect it," Mia said seriously. "This is our secret."

"Our magical secret," Leo agreed.

They played padel by the lightning pool until the storm passed, watching their rackets leave trails of sparkles in the air. When the clouds finally cleared, the pool faded away—but the friends knew it would return.

Some wonders, they learned, come to those who brave the storm and keep each other company in the dark.
