The Lightning Pool

Lily and Sam were best friends who loved exploring. One rainy afternoon, they found something strange behind the old oak tree—a glowing copper **cable** that seemed to hum with energy.

"Where do you think it goes?" Lily asked, her eyes wide with wonder.

"Only one way to find out!" Sam grinned.

They followed the cable through the forest, past babbling brooks and over mossy logs, until it led them to a hidden clearing they had never seen before. In the center sparkled a magical **pool** of water that shimmered like liquid stars.

Suddenly, the sky darkened. A bolt of **lightning** flashed across the clouds, striking the copper cable. Instead of scaring them, the lightning traveled down the cable and into the pool, making the water glow even brighter.

"Look!" Sam whispered.

The pool began to bubble, and floating to the surface were little crystals in every color of the rainbow. An old turtle appeared from behind a fern and spoke in a rumbly voice.

"These are the **vitamin** crystals of courage and kindness," the turtle explained. "The lightning charges them with power. Take only one, and use it to help someone in need."

Lily reached into the water and picked up a glowing blue crystal. She thought of her grandmother, who had been feeling lonely lately. When she held the crystal, she knew exactly what to do.

The children thanked the turtle and hurried back, following the glowing cable home. That afternoon, Lily visited her grandmother and spent hours telling stories and playing games. Her grandmother smiled more than she had in months.

"You've given me something better than any medicine," her grandmother said, hugging her tight.

That night, Lily realized the magic hadn't come from the crystal at all. The real magic was the love and friendship she had shared all along.

"The pool just helped us see what was already in our hearts," Sam agreed.

From then on, whenever they saw lightning during a storm, Lily and Sam would smile, remembering their magical adventure and the most important lesson of all: the power of friendship is the greatest magic of all.
