The Lightning Papaya Dance
Leo loved helping his grandmother in her garden, especially during summer storms. One evening, as dark clouds gathered overhead, he spotted something strange—a single papaya glowing with soft green light.
"Grandma! That papaya is shining!" Leo called, but she had already gone inside.
CRACK! A bolt of lightning struck the garden, and when Leo opened his eyes, his wooden toy bull was trotting toward him, its eyes sparkling with golden light.
"I'm Buster, and I've come to life because magic needs friends," the bull said warmly. "That lightning woke up something special."
The glowing papaya split open, and instead of seeds, out tumbled a bumpy green creature with wobbly arms and a crooked smile.
"Is that... a zombie?" Leo whispered, backing away.
"I'm Ziggy!" the creature cheered. "I'm a garden zombie—I help things grow!" Ziggy did a funny little dance, and suddenly, flowers bloomed wherever his feet touched the ground.
More lightning flashed, and Leo trembled. "I'm scared of storms."
Buster nuzzled Leo's hand. "Courage isn't not being afraid. It's doing brave things even when you ARE scared."
Ziggy took Leo's hand. "Want to learn my zombie dance? We'll thunder-stomp together!"
So Leo, Buster, and Ziggy danced through the rain—stomping, spinning, and laughing as lightning painted the sky. Leo wasn't scared anymore. He was dancing with magic.
The next morning, the garden was filled with new papaya trees, each one glowing faintly. Leo realized that sometimes, the scariest things bring the most wonderful surprises.
And whenever storms came, Leo would smile, knowing somewhere, a bull, a zombie, and a little boy were thunder-stomp dancing together.
