The Lightning Palm Adventure
Leo loved his old baseball more than anything. It had scuffs from every game, and he could throw it farther than any kid in the neighborhood. One hot summer afternoon, dark clouds gathered overhead. Thunder rumbled like a giant's belly, and tiny flashes of lightning danced behind the clouds.
Leo threw his baseball as hard as he could. It soared higher and higher, until—CRACK! A bolt of lightning struck it mid-air! The ball glowed with golden light and zipped straight into the giant palm tree at the edge of the park.
When Leo reached the palm tree, his baseball wasn't stuck in the branches. Instead, it sat in the palm of a magical hand made of shimmering light that had appeared on the trunk! The hand beckoned him closer.
"Throw it again," whispered a voice like rustling leaves.
Leo grabbed his glowing baseball. When he threw it this time, the ball left trails of sparkles. He caught it in his glove, and suddenly he could see magical creatures hiding everywhere—invisible fairies, cloud dragons, even tiny lightning sprites!
The magical palm hand gave him a thumbs-up, then faded away. But Leo understood: wonder was everywhere, just waiting to be noticed. From that day on, every game of baseball became an adventure, because Leo knew that if you looked closely enough, magic lived in the most unexpected places—even inside a simple palm tree's greeting.
