The Lightning Orange Grove

Lily loved visiting her grandmother's farm, but today was special. Grandma Mable led her behind the old red barn to a secret grove Lily had never seen before.

"This is the Lightning Orange Grove," Grandma whispered with twinkling eyes. "Watch."

Lily gasped. The oranges hanging from the trees weren't just orange-colored—they glowed with tiny lightning bolts that zapped and popped like miniature thunderstorms contained within fruit skin. Each time the breeze blew, spark-trails followed the swaying branches.

"Can I touch one?" Lily asked, reaching out.

"Only if you're brave enough," Grandma smiled. "Lightning oranges choose their pickers."

A particularly glowing orange suddenly dropped from the highest branch and landed right in Lily's hands. ZAP! A tiny lightning bolt tickled her palms, making her giggle. The orange felt warm, like it held sunshine inside.

"Each lightning orange contains special sun vitamins," Grandma explained. "They don't just make you healthy—they fill you with courage, kindness, and curiosity. The magic chooses those who will use these gifts wisely."

Lily took a bite. Citrus burst exploded in her mouth, followed by a fizzy, sparkling sensation that rushed from her toes to her nose. Suddenly, she saw the world differently—colors were brighter, sounds were clearer, and she understood that magic wasn't just in fairy tales. It lived in nature, waiting to be discovered by curious hearts.

"What do you do with these special vitamins?" Lily asked, still glowing with wonder.

"You share them," Grandma said, plucking another lightning orange. "The magic grows stronger when given away."

That afternoon, Lily shared her magical orange with the new girl at school who felt lonely, with her little brother who was scared of thunder, and with the elderly neighbor whose garden needed cheer. Each time she gave some away, the warmth in her heart grew brighter.

That night, as Lily drifted to sleep, she realized something important: true magic wasn't lightning powers or glowing fruit. It was the simple act of sharing what made you special with others.

The lightning orange had taught her its most valuable lesson—everything wonderful multiplies when you give it away.
