The Lightning Orange Friend

Lily sat on her porch swing, watching the storm clouds gather. Raindrops drummed a steady rhythm on the roof. Inside, her mom had left a glass of orange juice and a chewy vitamin on the kitchen table. But Lily wasn't hungry.

Suddenly, a tiny orange creature with glowing wings zipped through the rain! It was barely bigger than her thumb, with hair that crackled like static electricity. The creature darted under the porch overhang, shaking water from its sparkly fur.

"Thank you for the shelter!" squeaked the creature. "I'm Zoom!"

Lily's eyes widened. "You're... you're magical?"

Zoom nodded. "I'm a Lightning Sprite! I collect lightning bolts during storms and keep them safe. But today my wings got too wet to fly home!"

Lily smiled. "I can help!" She dashed inside and returned with her mom's hair dryer, carefully warming Zoom's wings until they glowed bright orange again.

"You're my best friend!" Zoom chirped. "Wait—I have something for you!"

The sprite reached into a tiny pouch and pulled out a glowing orange vitamin-shaped stone. "This is a Friendship Vitamin. It gives your heart courage and kindness!"

Lily held it carefully. It felt warm, like sunshine on a summer day.

"Any time you feel lonely," Zoom explained, "just hold this and remember: true friendship is the strongest magic of all."

With a happy sparkle, Zoom zoomed into the sky, chasing lightning bolts.

Lily ran inside, her heart full. "Mom!" she called. "I made a magical friend!"

That night, Lily placed the glowing orange stone by her bed. And for the first time ever, she wasn't afraid of storms at all. Thunder wasn't scary anymore—it was just her friend Zoom, doing important work in the clouds.
