The Lightning Orange Adventure

vitaminlightningorangepadelrunning

Every morning, ten-year-old Leo took his vitamin with breakfast. But one Tuesday, something extraordinary happened. As he swallowed the little orange tablet, a tiny spark jumped from his tongue! At first, Leo thought he'd imagined it. Then he looked at his hands. They were glowing!

Outside, a storm was brewing. Lightning flashed across the sky—ordinary lightning, nothing magical about it. Or so Leo thought. But when he reached out, the lightning actually curved toward him, spiraling like a puppy wanting to play!

"You can see it too?" said a voice behind him. Leo turned to find a girl his age, bouncing a tennis ball against her garage wall. "I'm Mia. I'm practicing for my padel tournament tomorrow. Want to play?"

Leo had never played padel before, but something about the glowing orange in his pocket—that same vitamin tablet, now warm and pulsing—made him feel brave. "Sure!"

They played for hours. Every time Leo hit the ball, tiny sparks flew from his racket! Mia didn't seem surprised. "My abuela says magic comes when you're doing something you love with someone who makes you happy."

Suddenly, real lightning struck the park's old oak tree. It started to fall—right toward Mia's little brother, who was running toward them!

Without thinking, Leo sprinted forward, moving faster than he'd ever run in his life. The glowing vitamin in his pocket blazed like a miniature sun. He reached the boy just in time, diving to push him out of the way.

The tree crashed beside them, harmlessly. But then—magic happened. The lightning that had struck the tree wrapped around Leo and the little brother like a protective blanket, then dissolved into tiny orange sparks that floated up to join the stars.

"My vitamin," Leo whispered. "It wasn't magic. The magic was... us?"

Mia smiled, watching the sparks fade. "Maybe the magic was always inside you. Sometimes you just need a friend—and maybe a little orange spark—to help you find it."

That night, Leo's vitamin bottle sat on his dresser, glowing faintly. He didn't need it anymore. He'd found something better: friendship, courage, and the knowledge that the real magic had been inside him all along, just waiting for the right moment to shine.
