The Lightning Message Spy
Lily discovered something magical in her grandmother's attic. It wasn't a treasure chest or a dusty book—it was an old, silver iphone that no longer worked like a regular phone.
"This belonged to your great-uncle," Grandma said with a wink. "They say it could spy on secrets from the sky."
Lily didn't believe in magic phones, but that night, a thunderstorm rolled in. She held the iphone near her window, watching raindrops race down the glass. Suddenly, a bolt of lightning flashed across the sky!
*ZAP!*
The iphone lit up with rainbow colors. Words began to scroll across its screen:
"Message from Cloud Kingdom: 'We need help!'
Lily gasped. The phone wasn't broken at all—it was a lightning message spy! She could read secret notes carried by lightning bolts.
"Hello?" she whispered into the phone.
"Hello down there!" a tiny voice squeaked back.
A small glowing sprite made of sparkles zipped out of the phone and danced around her room. "I'm Flash! I deliver lightning messages, but I dropped my most important one!"
"What was the message?" Lily asked.
"The Sun was supposed to rise tomorrow morning, but the alarm clock fell off my cloud! If it doesn't ring, morning will never come!"
Lily's eyes widened. "We have to fix it!"
Together, they devised a plan. Flash would fly Lily up to the cloud kingdom, and they would reset the sunrise alarm. Lily held tight to Flash's hand as they zoomed through the sky, dodging gentle raindrops and surfing on bolts of lightning like glowing surfboards.
They found the fallen clock resting on a fluffy cloud. Lily set it carefully just as another lightning bolt flashed—the alarm began to ring!
*Ring-a-ding-ding!*
Golden light spread across the horizon. Morning was saved!
"Thank you, Lily!" Flash cheered, handing her a special lightning bolt charm. "Now you'll always have a friend in the sky."
Lily returned home with her heart full of wonder. From then on, whenever lightning flashed, she would wave at the sky, knowing her friend was dancing through the clouds, delivering messages and making sure every sunrise arrived on time.
And sometimes, if you look closely during a storm, you might see a small spark doing loop-de-loops across the sky—that's Flash, saying hello to his best friend below.
