The Lightning Magic Phone
Maya was running through the park when the sky turned purple. Thunder rumbled like a giant tummy grumbling, and lightning flashed across the clouds in jagged golden lines.
"I need to get home!" Maya thought, clutching her dad's old iphone in her hand. She wasn't supposed to bring it, but she wanted to take pictures of the sunset.
CRACK! A bolt of lightning struck the biggest palm tree in the park. Maya ducked behind a bench, but when she looked up, something amazing was happening.
The lightning hadn't burned the tree. Instead, it made the palm tree glow with sparkling silver light! And the iphone in Maya's hand started vibrating—not like a normal phone, but like it was excited.
Maya looked at the screen and gasped. It showed a message: "MAGIC STORM ACTIVE. SWIMMING MODE UNLOCKED."
"Swimming?" Maya whispered.
Suddenly, the air around her turned into sparkling blue water. But she could still breathe! Maya kicked her legs and found herself swimming through the air like it was the ocean. The lightning had turned the whole world into a magical swimming pool!
She swam up to the glowing palm tree, where a tiny dragon made of lightning zipped around.
"You found my magic storm!" the dragon squeaked. "Most kids run away from lightning, but you ran toward adventure!"
Maya grinned. "Being brave is better than being scared."
The dragon did a flip. "Exactly! Take this." It touched the iphone, which now showed a button that said "SUMMON FRIENDS."
From that day on, whenever lightning flashed across the sky, Maya would grab her magic phone and summon all the neighborhood kids. They'd go swimming through the air together, having the most wonderful adventures anyone could imagine.
And grown-ups never knew why the children in the park always cheered during thunderstorms. They thought kids were just being silly. But Maya and her friends knew the truth: the bravest hearts find the most magical adventures.
