The Lightning Magic

Lily loved storms. One rainy evening, while her parents cooked dinner, she peeked out the window and gasped. Lightning flashed—a brilliant purple bolt that struck her dad's old iPhone on the porch!

The phone started to glow and sparkle. Curious, Lily opened the door. A strange green mist swirled around the phone. Then the charging cable—left on the table—began to wiggle and stretch like a long, shiny snake!

"Come closer," whispered a friendly voice. Lily stepped outside. To her surprise, a small zombie emerged from the garden. He wasn't scary at all—he wore a patchwork jacket and had the kindest eyes.

"I've been stuck in your garden for years," the zombie said sadly. "The lightning magic only wakes me up during big storms. Nobody wants to be friends with a zombie."

Lily smiled. "I'll be your friend!" But then she remembered—she had forgotten to eat her vegetables at dinner. Her mom always said spinach gave you strength and courage. Suddenly, she spotted a can of spinach in the recycling bin.

"Wait!" Lily grabbed the spinach can. It started to glow too! The magical lightning had given it power. She offered it to the zombie. "This will give you courage."

The zombie ate the spinach and his eyes lit up. "I feel brave now!" he cheered. "Brave enough to finally find my way home."

The magical cable stretched from the iPhone—still glowing on the porch—across the garden and into the woods, creating a sparkling bridge of light.

"Follow me!" the zombie called. Lily held her dad's iPhone like a lantern as they walked. The cable led them through the enchanted woods until they found a magical village where other misunderstood creatures lived.

"Thank you, Lily," the zombie hugged her. "You taught me that real magic isn't lightning or glowing phones—it's friendship and kindness."

Lily waved goodbye as the purple lightning faded, but she knew she'd made a friend forever. Some magic, she realized, doesn't disappear with the storm.
