The Lightning-Haired Girl and the Lost Bull
Lily had the most unusual hair in all of Willowbrook Village. When storms rolled through the valley, her brown curls would sparkle and flash like tiny bolts of lightning. The other children thought it was strange, but Lily's grandmother called it a gift.
One evening, as thunder rumbled across the hills, Lily was walking home when she heard a sad snorting sound. Behind the old oak tree stood a massive bull with velvety brown fur and the gentlest eyes she had ever seen.
"I'm lost," the bull said softly. "I was following a butterfly and wandered too far. Now I can't find my way back to Farmer McGregor's farm before the storm gets worse."
Lily's hair began to glow brighter as the storm grew nearer. Tiny sparks danced between her curls, illuminating the darkening path.
"Don't worry," Lily said, feeling brave. "Follow me!"
The bull walked beside Lily as lightning flashed across the sky. Her magical hair created a warm, golden glow that showed them the way through the gathering darkness. Whenever the path became unclear, her curls would sparkle extra bright, pointing them in the right direction.
"Your hair is just like the lightning in the sky," the bull marveled. "But instead of frightening, it's comforting!"
Lily smiled. She had always felt different because of her strange hair, but now she saw it could help others.
When they reached Farmer McGregor's farm, the bull's family was waiting anxiously. They thanked Lily over and over, calling her a hero. As Lily walked home, she realized something important: the things that make us different are often our greatest gifts. Her lightning hair wasn't strange at all—it was magical.
From that day on, whenever Lily saw someone lost or needing help, she would let her hair glow bright and guide them safely home. And that's how the girl with lightning hair became known as the guardian of Willowbrook Valley.
