The Lightning Hair Baseball Miracle
Emma's hair always did whatever it wanted. Every morning, her brown curls stuck out like she'd stuck her finger in an electrical socket. Her mom called it "volcano hair." Her dad said it was full of magic.
Emma loved baseball more than anything. She played second base and could throw a ball all the way from the outfield fence. But today was the championship game, and Emma's team was down by three runs.
The sky grew dark as Emma stepped up to bat. Dark clouds gathered overhead like hungry wolves. CRACK! A bolt of lightning shot down from the sky and zapped right into Emma's baseball glove!
Her hair stood straight up, glowing with golden sparks. Emma felt tingly all over, like she was filled with stardust.
"Your hair!" gasped her friend Mia from the dugout. "It's shimmering!"
Emma swung her bat and—WHOOSH!—the ball sailed over the fence, over the trees, and landed in the next town! Home run!
But something magical happened next. Emma's glowing hair attracted the baseball like a magnet. When she ran the bases, her hair sparkled with every step, leaving trails of light that her teammates could follow in the darkening field.
Then Emma noticed something. Her hair wasn't just glowing—it was helping her see where every ball would land before it even got there! She caught three fly balls that would have been home runs for the other team.
Emma's team won the championship, but that wasn't the best part. The best part was sharing her secret with Mia and showing her how the magic lightning hair worked.
"Everyone has something special about them," Emma told Mia later, watching their trophy sparkle in the sunset. "Sometimes it just takes a little lightning to help us find it."
And from that day on, every time Emma's hair stuck out extra wild, her teammates knew something magical was about to happen on the baseball field.
