The Lightning Green Leaf

Young Finn was a fish who was afraid of swimming.

While all his friends zipped through the sparkling lake like rainbows—darting between sunbeams and chasing bubble boats—Finn stayed near his comfortable gray rock. The water looked too big, too deep, too scary.

"What if I sink?" he worried, watching his friends play. "What if I get lost in the dark corners?"

One sunny afternoon, while nibbling on boring old algae, Finn spotted something unusual—a bright green leaf that had fallen into the water. It was spinach! A curious thing to find in a lake. It wobbled like a little green jellyfish.

But just as Finn opened his mouth to taste it, the sky turned the color of grape jelly. Thunder rumbled like a giant's tummy, and CRACK! Lightning flashed across the water, illuminating something terrible.

Finn's best friend Penny was stuck in some weeds near the deep end! She was too far from shore, and the storm was making waves rock her back and forth like a little boat in a bathtub.

"I have to help!" thought Finn, but his fins trembled. "I can't swim that far!"

Then he remembered the spinach leaf. Something magical happened when he took a bite—ZING! Energy surged through his tiny body. His scales felt stronger, his fins more powerful. The lightning crackled overhead, and suddenly, Finn wasn't afraid anymore. He felt brave!

He swam! Faster than he'd ever moved before, cutting through the water like a silver arrow. The spinach gave him strength, but it was his friendship that gave him courage. With each stroke of his fins, the lightning flashed, lighting his way to Penny through the dark, swirling water.

"I'm here!" Finn called, reaching her. Together they swam back to safety, just as the storm passed and a rainbow appeared across the sky.

From that day on, Finn wasn't afraid of swimming anymore. And whenever he saw spinach floating in the water, he smiled—because sometimes, the most ordinary things can give us the most extraordinary courage. And true friendship is the strongest magic of all.

The End.
