The Lightning Goldfish's Great Adventure
Lily loved her tiny goldfish, Finnick. He lived in a blue bowl on her nightstand, swimming in circles and blowing bubbles every evening. One stormy Tuesday, Lily was playing on her mom's iPhone when a crack of lightning shook the whole house. The lights flickered and went out.
In the flash of lightning that followed, Lily saw something amazing — Finnick was floating out of his bowl! His orange scales glowed like a tiny sunset. 'Don't be scared!' he said in a bubbly voice. 'The lightning magic only happens once every hundred years!'
Lily couldn't believe it. Her goldfish could talk! Finnick explained that during lightning storms, magical fish could grant one special wish to their best friends. But they had to act fast — the magic only lasted until the thunder stopped.
'Quick!' said Finnick. 'What do you wish for?' Lily thought hard. She could wish for anything — toys, candy, a puppy. But then she remembered her little brother Timmy, who had been running around all day trying to catch fireflies in the backyard without success. The other kids had laughed at him.
'I wish Timmy could catch a firefly,' Lily said, 'but not just any firefly — the most special one in the whole world!'
Finnick's orange scales sparkled brighter than ever. A tiny ball of light floated from the window, down to the garden, and landed gently on Timmy's nose. Timmy gasped with delight. The firefly glowed purple and gold — the most beautiful one anyone had ever seen.
The thunder rumbled, and the magic faded. Finnick swam back into his bowl with a happy splash. Lily smiled, knowing she had used her wish to make someone else happy. And that night, as she fell asleep, she dreamed of lightning, magic fish, and the joy of kindness.
