The Lightning Goldfish of Palm Cove
Lila loved visiting her grandmother's house by the sea. The best part was the secret cove behind the house, where seven tall **palm** trees swayed in the warm breeze like friendly dancers.
One afternoon, dark clouds gathered overhead. Thunder rumbled like a giant's tummy. Lila ran to the cove and saw something amazing—a small **goldfish** swimming in a tide pool, but this wasn't an ordinary fish. Its scales shimmered with every color of the rainbow, and tiny sparks of light danced around it like miniature stars.
"Please help me!" the goldfish bubbled. Lila could understand fish language! "I'm Lightning the magical fish, and I'm stuck away from my home. A storm is coming!"
Suddenly, a bolt of **lightning** flashed across the sky, illuminating the whole cove. The tide pool began to drain as the storm pushed water away. Lightning would be trapped!
Lila knew what to do. She scooped the fish into her bucket and ran toward the deeper ocean. Rain poured down as waves crashed wildly. But Lila was brave—she had to save her new friend.
"Thank you, Lila!" Lightning said as she released him into the sea. "For your kindness, I grant you one wish."
Lila thought carefully. She could wish for treasure, or flying, or endless candy. But she remembered how scared Lightning had been.
"I wish that all sea creatures find safe homes during storms," Lila said.
Lightning's scales glowed brighter than ever. A beautiful rainbow spread across the sky even as rain fell. "Your heart is pure, Lila. Whenever you need me, just call my name by the palm trees."
From that day on, Lila visited the cove often. She learned that true magic isn't about wishes—it's about helping friends, big or small. And sometimes, the most extraordinary adventures begin with the simplest act of kindness.
