The Lightning Goldfish Garden
Leo hated spinach. Every night at dinner, he would push the green leaves around his plate, wishing they would disappear. But this Tuesday night, something magical happened.
A flash of **lightning** struck the backyard garden with a CRACK that made the windows rattle. Leo ran to the window and gasped. In the garden, something was moving. Something green.
"Is that a... **zombie**?" Leo whispered, eyes wide.
The green figure shuffled toward the fishpond. Leo grabbed his flashlight and tiptoed outside. The zombie wasn't scary at all — it was made entirely of spinach leaves! Its round spinach head turned toward Leo.
"Please help," the spinach zombie said in a soft, leafy voice. "The lightning magic woke me, but I can't reach my friends."
Leo followed the zombie's gaze to the pond. Three **goldfish** floated at the top, looking sad and sleepy. Their usually bright scales were dull and gray.
"They need energy," the zombie explained. "The lightning gave me life, but they're too deep in the water to catch the spark."
Leo's heart swelled with courage. He grabbed a handful of spinach from his dinner plate and ran to the pond. "Maybe this will help!"
He sprinkled the spinach onto the water's surface. The spinach leaves began to glow with tiny lightning bolts, zapping and crackling like friendly fireflies. The goldfish perked up, their scales turning golden again as they nibbled the magical spinach.
"Thank you!" the spinach zombie cheered. "You saved them!"
"But..." Leo looked at his hands. "I thought I hated spinach."
The zombie smiled. "Spinach isn't just food. When you share it to help others, it becomes magic. That's the secret."
That night, Leo learned something wonderful: things we think we don't like can become amazing when we use them to help friends. And now, whenever he eats spinach, he remembers the lightning that brought a garden to life — and the magic of kindness.
