The Lightning Goldfish
Lily loved her tiny goldfish, Orangey, who swam in circles in his bowl on her nightstand. Every night before bed, she would tap on the glass and whisper, "Goodnight, little friend." But one night, when she was trying to show Orangey her new iPhone with its glowing screen, something magical happened.
Suddenly, a bright bolt of lightning flashed outside her window, making the room sparkle with silver light. Orangey began to glow too! His orange scales shimmered like tiny stars, and to Lily's amazement, he grew bigger and bigger until he could speak!
"Lily!" Orangey said in a bubbly voice. "The lightning has given me magic powers for one hour! Let's go on an adventure!"
Lily's eyes grew wide as Orangey magicked a floating bubble around himself and floated out of his bowl. Together they drifted out the window and into the night sky, where the moon smiled down at them like a friendly face.
Below them, they saw something sad. A farmer's bull was stuck in a muddy ditch, unable to get out. The poor animal was scared and alone.
"We must help him!" Lily cried.
Orangey used his magical lightning powers to create a brilliant glow that guided the farmer to the ditch. But the bull was too heavy to pull out. Orangey thought for a moment, then had an idea. He used his magic to make the mud around the bull slippery and smooth, like a water slide. With a happy moo, the bull slid right out of the ditch!
The farmer was so grateful that he gave Lily and Orangey fresh carrots and apples. As they floated back home, Orangey's magic began to fade.
"Thank you for the adventure, Lily," Orangey said, growing smaller again. "Remember, true friends help others in need, no matter how big the problem."
Lily tucked Orangey back into his bowl just as the last lightning spark disappeared from his scales. She touched the glass gently, knowing that her small friend had a very big heart. Sometimes the best adventures come from helping others, and magic can be found in the kindest moments.
From that night on, whenever Lily saw lightning, she smiled, remembering her brave goldfish and the bull they saved together.
