The Lightning Game Below

Maya stood on the sandy beach, her small fingers wrapped tightly around a bright orange padel racket. The summer sky had turned dark and swirling, strange clouds gathering faster than she'd ever seen. Beside her, best mate Leo laughed as he hit a ball against the wooden paddle leaning against their favorite palm tree.

Then it happened – a brilliant bolt of lightning crashed down, striking the sand just meters away. But instead of burning, the lightning had carved something incredible: a shimmering golden pyramid, glowing softly from beneath the earth.

"Did you see that?" Maya whispered, eyes wide.

The pyramid's sides slid open like puzzle pieces, revealing a spiral staircase descending into darkness. But the strangest part? Water rushed up from below, filling the space with crystal-clear blue liquid.

"Swimming time!" Leo cheered, though Maya wasn't so sure.

Her friend grabbed her hand. "Together?"

Maya nodded, gripping his palm tight. They jumped into the magical water, which felt warm and tingled with tiny sparks of electricity – leftover from the lightning, she guessed. Down they swam, through a hidden underwater cave filled with glowing fish and ancient treasures.

At the bottom lay the most beautiful sight: a massive chamber where children from long ago had left behind their favorite games, preserved in magic. The golden pyramid above wasn't just treasure – it was playground, built by kids who'd loved adventure as much as Maya and Leo.

When they surfaced, gasping and grinning, the pyramid had vanished. Only their padel rackets remained, now glowing with tiny golden flecks – proof that magic still existed for those brave enough to seek it.

"Same time tomorrow?" Maya asked.

Leo grinned. "Only if you bring your racket."
