The Lightning Game

Emma and Jake loved playing padel on the old court behind their house. The rain had just stopped when Emma grabbed her racket.

"One more game?" she called out.

Jake nodded, but the sky turned dark purple. Strange lightning flashed—not the regular yellow kind, but sparkly blue bolts that danced like ribbons.

"Wow!" Jake breathed.

Then something shuffled from the woods. A figure with messy green hair, patched clothes, and slow, careful steps.

"It's a zombie!" Jake whispered, hiding behind his racket.

The figure waved slowly. "Hello friends. I'm Ziggy."

Emma stepped forward. Ziggy didn't look scary—just lonely. His green hair had tiny flowers growing in it.

"I've watched you play padel," Ziggy said sadly. "I used to play with my friends, but they moved away. The lightning storm made me look... different."

The magical blue lightning struck again, and Emma understood. The storm had changed Ziggy, but inside, he was still just a kid who wanted friends.

"Want to play?" Emma asked, holding out her racket.

Ziggy's face lit up. They played the most magical game ever. When Ziggy hit the ball, sparkles trailed behind it. The blue lightning made their shadows dance on the court.

"You're not scary at all," Jake laughed. "You're the best padel player ever!"

Ziggy beamed. "Friends don't judge by how people look. They see who you really are inside."

That night, Emma and Jake learned that true friendship shines brighter than lightning, and sometimes the scariest-looking people just need someone to believe in them.

Every stormy day after, they waited for the blue lightning and their friend Ziggy, ready for another magical game of padel under the sparkling sky.
