The Lightning Friend in Leo's Palm

Leo was a curious boy who loved exploring. One sunny afternoon, he discovered something amazing in the forest. A tiny spark of blue light danced above a mossy rock. It zipped and zoomed like a miniature star!

"Hello there," Leo whispered, cupping his hands gently. The spark landed in his palm and tingled like fizzing soda. But it didn't hurt! Instead, it felt warm and friendly, almost like a tiny heartbeat.

Suddenly, the spark spoke! "I'm Zapp! I've been lost for three hundred years!"

Leo couldn't believe his ears. A talking lightning spark! "I'm Leo. Do you need help getting home?"

Zapp nodded eagerly. "Yes! I live in the Cloud Castle above the tallest mountain. But I can't fly that high alone."

Leo's new friend needed him! He placed Zapp carefully in his pocket and began the climb. The path was steep and rocky. When Zapp got scared, Leo let him rest in his palm, telling stories to make him feel brave.

Halfway up, they met Maya, a girl collecting wildflowers. She gasped when she saw Zapp. "A lightning sprite! My grandmother told me stories about them! They bring rain to thirsty valleys."

"I'm trying to help Zapp get home," Leo explained.

Maya smiled. "My family has a kite that reaches very high. Let me help!"

Together, the three friends worked until sunset. Maya's grandfather helped them attach a special basket to the giant kite. Zapp hopped inside, beaming.

"Thank you, Leo! Thank you, Maya!" Zapp called as the wind lifted him upward. "You're both my forever friends!"

As Zapp disappeared into the clouds, tiny raindrops began to fall. The valley below had been dry for months, but now flowers would bloom again.

Leo and Maya high-fived, their palms still tingling with magic. Sometimes the best adventures start when you lend a helping hand—and make a friend along the way.
