The Lightning Dog's Magic Vitamin

Lily loved running through the meadow behind her house, but she was always the slowest kid in her class. That didn't stop her from trying, though!

One rainy afternoon, Lily found something shiny in the mud. It was a small orange bottle that read MAGIC ENERGY VITAMIN. Her grandmother had told her stories about magical things that appeared during storms—when lightning struck the ancient oak tree on the hill, strange wonders sometimes emerged.

Lily's dog, Buster, a golden retriever with one floppy ear, nudged her hand excitedly. He believed in magic more than anyone.

'I wish I could run as fast as lightning,' Lily whispered, opening the bottle. Inside was one glowing blue pill.

Buster barked and did a silly little dance. Lily laughed. 'Okay, okay! We'll share it!'

She broke the vitamin in half. One piece for her, one for Buster. They swallowed it together.

Suddenly, CRACK-BOOM! Lightning struck the oak tree again, and something amazing happened. Lily and Buster began to glow! Their feet lifted off the ground, and they zoomed across the meadow faster than anything!

'Wheeeee!' Lily shouted. They were running so fast that everything blurred.

But then they saw something sad in the distance. A zombie—no, not a scary zombie, but a lonely-looking boy who walked slowly and stiffly, never playing with other kids. His name was Toby, and everyone called him 'Toby the Zombie' because he moved so slowly and never smiled.

Lily and Buster slowed down. 'Hello!' Lily called. 'Want to run with us?'

Toby looked up, surprised. 'I can't run. I'm too slow.'

'That's okay!' said Lily. 'We can run together!' She took his hand, and Buster licked his face.

Toby smiled for the first time. As they held hands, something magical happened. The glowing energy from Lily and Buster flowed into Toby too! Soon, all three were zooming across the meadow, laughing together.

Toby wasn't slow anymore. He ran just like everyone else—and he made new friends every day after that.

Lily learned that the real magic wasn't the vitamin at all. It was sharing, friendship, and believing in others. That's what makes everyone shine.
