The Lightning Cat's Secret Mission
Whiskers was no ordinary cat. While other cats chased mice and napped in sunbeams, Whiskers had a secret job. She was a storm watcher—a spy for the sky!
Every afternoon, she'd climb to the rooftop and perch on the old telephone cable that stretched between buildings. Her yellow eyes would scan the horizon, watching for the first gray clouds. Whiskers could sense storms before anyone else. Her whiskers tingled when lightning was coming.
One stormy evening, Whiskers spotted something unusual. A tiny, glowing creature danced on the cable beside her—it was a lightning sprite! The little sprite looked scared and lost.
"Please help me!" squeaked the sprite, which sparkled like a living star. "I fell from my cloud during the storm!"
Whiskers, being the cleverest cat in the neighborhood, had an idea. She guided the sprite down the cable, through alleyways, and finally to the tall radio tower where lightning loved to visit.
As thunder rumbled overhead, the sprite's family came down in a brilliant bolt of lightning. They reunited with shining hugs that lit up the whole street.
"Thank you, Whiskers!" the sprite family chimed. "You're not just a spy for storms—you're a friend to the sky!"
From that night on, whenever lightning flashed, Whiskers would purr. She knew the sky sprites were winking hello. And whenever other animals asked how she always knew when storms were coming, she'd just twitch her whiskers mysteriously.
Some secrets are too magical to explain—even for a very clever cat.
