The Lightning Cat's Secret
Emma loved stormy days. While other children hid under blankets, she pressed her nose against the window, watching the sky dance.
One rainy afternoon, she saw something impossible. A cat sat on the telephone cable outside her window—not a normal cat, but a glowing cat with fur that crackled like tiny stars. When lightning flashed, the cat's fur blazed bright purple!
Emma opened her window slowly. "Hello," she whispered.
The cat leaped gracefully onto her windowsill. *I'm Spark,* the cat seemed to say without speaking, his thoughts floating into her mind like bubbles.
*Come with me. There's magic in the storm!*
Emma had never seen a cable glow before, but this one shimmered with golden light. Spark took her paw, and suddenly Emma could run along the cable too—light and quick as sunbeams.
"Where are we running?" Emma called, wind streaming through her hair.
*To fix the storm's broken heart!* Spark replied.
High above the neighborhood, Emma saw the problem. A dark cloud was trapped, unable to release its rain because something had blocked its magic path.
Spark's fur suddenly burst with lightning brightness. *I need your help, Emma. The cloud needs kindness, not power.*
Emma understood. She reached toward the grumpy cloud and whispered, "It's okay to be sad. The sun will come back."
The cloud shuddered, then released its rain in gentle sprinkles instead of angry downpours. Below, children ran outside to dance in the puddles.
Spark purred, his glow softening to warm amber. *You have the real magic, Emma—the lightning in your heart. Kindness fixes things that power cannot.*
The cat touched Emma's forehead with his nose. *Remember me whenever storms come. Not all heroes wear capes. Some ride cables on glowing paws.*
Then Spark dissolved into rainbows that arched across the sky.
Emma's mom called from downstairs. "Emma! Come see the rainbow!"
Emma smiled, touching her forehead where a tiny spark still glowed. Some storms weren't scary at all. Some were just adventures waiting for a brave friend.
