The Lightning Bull's Secret Gift
Mia hated thunderstorms. Every time the sky rumbled, she hid under her quilt with her teddy bear.
One evening, while lightning flashed outside her window, something peculiar happened. A tiny glow appeared on her windowsill. When Mia peeked out, she gasped—there stood a miniature bull no bigger than her hand, with fur the color of a ripe orange and eyes that sparkled like stars.
"I'm Finn," the bull said in a voice like gentle chimes. "Don't be afraid of the lightning. It's just nature dancing."
Mia's eyes widened. "You can talk?"
"Magical creatures can do many things," Finn replied. "Want to see something special?"
He touched Mia's forehead with his nose. Suddenly, the lightning outside looked beautiful, like silver ribbons weaving through the sky.
"The lightning gives me special energy," Finn explained. "I share it with you. It's like a vitamin for courage."
Mia felt a warm tingle spread through her chest. "Is that why I feel braver now?"
Finn nodded. "True courage isn't about not being scared. It's about being scared and doing brave things anyway. Come running with me!"
They dashed through magical meadows that appeared only during lightning storms. Mia discovered she could run faster than ever, her feet barely touching the grass. Orange flowers bloomed wherever she stepped.
"See?" Finn said proudly. "You've always had courage inside you. I just helped you find it."
Mia realized Finn was right. She wasn't hiding from storms anymore—she was dancing through them.
When morning came, Finn left but promised to return. "Remember," he whispered, "you carry the lightning's magic in your heart now."
From that night on, Mia smiled whenever thunder rumbled. She knew her orange bull friend was dancing somewhere in the storm, and that the true magic—the magic of courage—had been inside her all along.
Sometimes, she would go running in the rain, laughing as the lightning flashed, grateful for the storm that brought her a friend and the secret gift of bravery she would keep forever.
