The Lightning Bull's Secret Garden
Emma loved storms. She would press her nose against the cold window glass, watching lightning paint brilliant zigzags across the midnight sky.
One especially stormy night, a bolt of lightning struck right in her backyard with a thunderous CRACK! When Emma tiptoed outside in her yellow rainboots, she discovered something amazing - a glowing purple path leading to an enchanted forest she had never seen before.
In the middle of the magical grove stood the most surprising creature imaginable. A great brown bull with enormous feathery wings that shimmered like captured lightning.
"I'm Barnaby," the bull said in a voice as gentle as summer rain. "I'm not scary at all. I guard the lost dreams of children who have forgotten how to believe in magic."
Emma reached out and touched Barnaby's soft velvety nose. The bull offered her his great golden palm - warm as sunshine and dotted with sparkling starlight. Emma climbed onto his back, and they soared through the storm clouds, rainbow-colored lightning dancing around them.
They landed in a hidden garden where glowing flowers grew. But someone was already there - a small green boy sitting alone on a toadstool, crying emerald tears.
"That's Zed," Barnaby whispered. "He's a zombie, but the kindest creature you'll ever meet. Everyone runs away because of how he looks."
Emma slid down from Barnaby's back and knelt beside Zed. "What's wrong?"
"Nobody wants to be my friend," Zed sniffled. "They think I'm scary just because I'm green and a little bit crumbly."
Emma took Zed's cold hand and smiled. "I'll be your friend! You're not scary at all - you're wonderful!"
Zed's green face lit up with the most beautiful smile. Together, the three friends explored Barnaby's magical garden, planting new flowers made of lightning and friendship seeds.
Emma learned something important that night: real magic isn't in lightning or flying bulls. The real magic is kindness, and friendship can bloom anywhere - even between a girl, a lightning bull, and a zombie who just needed someone to believe in him.
Now whenever storm clouds gather, Emma knows her friends are waiting for another adventure. The lightning isn't just weather anymore - it's the doorway to the greatest friendship she ever found.
