The Lightning Bull's Secret
Mango was a tiny orange cat with fur as bright as a pumpkin. Every night, she curled up in the barn, watching the big bull named Thunder stomp around his pen. Thunder was enormous, with sharp horns and a grumpy face. All the other animals stayed far away from him.
One evening, while Mango was grooming her soft fur, the sky turned dark purple. FLASH! A bolt of lightning crackled across the sky, followed by a tremendous BOOM. Mango's fur stood straight up, making her look like a fluffy orange porcupine. She jumped behind a hay bale, trembling.
To her surprise, Thunder wasn't stomping or grumpy at all. The big bull was cowering in the corner of his pen, his eyes wide with fear. Mango felt brave suddenly. This giant bull was scared of storms, just like her!
She crept closer and meowed softly. Thunder looked down at the tiny orange cat, his nose twitching. Another flash of lightning illuminated the barn, and Mango gasped. Thunder's normally rough, matted hair was glowing! With each lightning flash, his coarse brown fur transformed into shimmering rainbow colors.
"You have magical hair!" Mango purred.
Thunder smiled, his grumpy face softening. "Only during storms. That's why I stay in the corner - so no one sees my secret."
Mango trotted right up to him and began grooming his rainbow fur, making it smooth and shiny. They spent the whole storm together, the tiny orange cat and the bull with lightning hair. When morning came, Thunder's hair returned to normal, but their friendship remained.
From then on, whenever storms approached, all the animals knew where to find them - together in the corner, a small orange cat curled against a big bull, both unafraid, both magical in their own way. Mango had learned something wonderful: sometimes the scariest-looking creatures just need a friend, and the biggest surprises come from the most unexpected places.
