The Lightning Bull's Secret
Timmy loved baseball more than anything, but he was terrible at it. Every time he stepped up to bat, he'd swing and miss. The other kids laughed, and Timmy's cheeks burned hot.
One evening, while Timmy sat alone on his porch, a strange storm rolled in. Lightning flashed across the sky like a giant's camera. Suddenly, he saw something impossible: old Farmer McGregor's bull was standing in the middle of the pasture, holding a baseball bat with his front hooves!
Timmy crept closer, becoming a spy in his own adventure. The bull hit a baseball so hard it cracked like thunder! Then—ZAP!—a lightning bolt struck the ground, and where it hit, glowing orange vitamins popped up from the soil.
The bull ate one vitamin, and his fur shimmered like stardust. He spotted Timmy hiding behind the oak tree.
"I know you're there, little spy," the bull said. His voice sounded like crunching leaves. "These lightning vitamins give me magic, but they only work if you believe in yourself first."
Timmy stepped out, trembling. "But I always strike out."
"That's because you're trying to be someone else," the bull said gently. "The magic isn't in the vitamin. It's in your heart." He nosed a glowing vitamin toward Timmy. "Try it. But remember: the real power is already inside you."
Timmy ate the vitamin. It tasted like sunshine and dreams. Suddenly, he felt different—not stronger, but braver.
The next day, Timmy stepped up to the plate. He didn't hit a home run. But he didn't swing and miss, either. He hit the ball—really hit it—and ran to first base feeling like he'd swallowed lightning.
Sometimes, on stormy evenings, Timmy still visits the bull. They don't need vitamins anymore. The magic of friendship and believing in yourself? That lasts forever.
