The Lightning Bull's Secret
Lily loved visiting her grandmother's farm. Every summer, she'd help feed the chickens and collect eggs from the barn. But her favorite spot was the old oak tree behind the farmhouse, where a thick black cable connected to a metal box on the trunk.
"What's this cable for, Grandma?" Lily asked one day.
Grandma smiled mysteriously. "That, my dear, connects to something very special. But you'll discover its secret yourself when the time is right."
That evening, a storm rolled across the valley. Lightning crackled across the dark sky like golden rivers flowing upward. Lily watched from the porch, fascinated by the dancing lights.
Suddenly, a brilliant bolt struck the old oak tree! Lily gasped and ran outside, despite the rain. The metal box on the tree was glowing softly.
To her wonder, a magnificent creature stepped out from behind the tree—a bull made entirely of crackling blue lightning! His eyes were warm like sunlight, and his horns curved like crescent moons.
"Thank you for freeing me," the Lightning Bull spoke, his voice like distant thunder. "For centuries, I was trapped in that box, connected by that cable. Only the courage of a curious child could break the spell."
Lily's eyes widened. "You're magical!"
"I bring rain to thirsty fields and light to dark nights," the bull explained. "But I grew lonely in my prison. Now, thanks to your brave heart, I can finally roam free again."
He lowered his magnificent head. "Climb on, little friend. Let me show you the world from above."
Carefully, Lily climbed onto the Lightning Bull's back. Together they soared into the stormy sky, dancing among the clouds and leaving trails of sparkles wherever they went. From above, the farm looked like a tiny patchwork quilt, and the whole world seemed full of possibility.
When they returned, the bull nuzzled Lily's cheek. "Remember, true courage isn't about being fearless. It's about being kind and curious, even when things seem scary."
With a final flash of lightning, he galloped into the clouds, leaving Lily with a secret smile and a heart full of magic.
The next morning, the cable was gone. But Lily knew the Lightning Bull was still out there somewhere, bringing wonder to curious children everywhere.
