The Lightning Bull's Secret
Maya loved storms. While other children hid under blankets when thunder rumbled, Maya pressed her nose against the window, watching the sky light up.
One evening, a particularly fierce storm sent her running to the old hill behind her house. Locals called it the Stone Pyramid because of its perfect shape. Maya had never dared climb it—until tonight.
As she reached the top, lightning struck the pyramid's peak. But instead of a loud crash, the lightning hummed like a gentle song. The Stone Pyramid began to glow, and Maya gasped as its stone surface unfolded like flower petals.
Inside sat a magnificent creature—a bull made entirely of swirling silver light. His eyes twinkled like distant stars.
"I've been waiting for someone brave enough to visit during a storm," the Lightning Bull spoke, his voice sounding like wind chimes. "I am Orion, keeper of storm magic. For a thousand years, humans have feared my home."
Maya's fear vanished. "You're beautiful!"
Orion smiled. "And you, little one, are the first to see beauty where others saw danger. True courage isn't about being unafraid—it's about facing what scares you to discover something wonderful."
He lowered his magnificent head. "Would you like to ride on my back? We could visit the clouds where raindrops are born."
Maya nodded eagerly. As she climbed onto his silver back, they soared into the stormy sky. Lightning danced around them like fireflies, and she saw how each drop of rain carried tiny rainbows.
"Not all storms are scary," Orion explained. "Some bring life to the earth. Some show us how strong we can be. What matters is learning which storms to face and which to shelter from."
When they returned to the Stone Pyramid, Orion nuzzled Maya's hand. "Visit me whenever you need courage. Remember, my little friend: the brightest lights often come from the darkest clouds."
As the storm passed and Orion faded back into the pyramid, Maya ran home with a pocketful of rainbows and a heart full of magic. She wasn't afraid of storms anymore—she was excited for every adventure they might bring.
