The Lightning Bull's Midnight Run
Leo loved watching the old bull from his bedroom window. Every evening, the massive black creature would graze peacefully in the meadow behind their farmhouse. But Leo knew something special about this bull—something magical.
One stormy night, Leo woke to flashes of lightning illuminating his room. Curious, he peeked outside and gasped. The old bull wasn't hiding in the barn like the other animals. Instead, he stood in the middle of the meadow, his head raised toward the sky as lightning struck all around him.
Leo rushed outside, the rain warm on his pajamas. "Bull! Come inside!" he called, but the bull turned his massive head and winked—a real, human-like wink!
"I'm not afraid of storms, little friend," the bull seemed to say without speaking. "Watch this."
Suddenly, a bolt of lightning struck near the bull's hooves. But instead of running away, the bull began running toward it! His hooves thundered across the wet grass, and with each step, sparks of blue light danced around him. The faster he ran, the more he glowed until he seemed to become part of the storm itself.
"Come!" the bull's voice echoed in Leo's mind. "Running with the storm feels like flying!"
Leo didn't think—he just climbed onto the bull's broad back, and suddenly they were racing across fields, through forests, and over streams. The world blurred into streaks of color. Leo felt wild and free, his heart pounding with excitement.
They stopped at the top of a hill, the storm now a gentle drizzle. Below them, the whole valley sparkled with morning dew.
"Why did you show me this?" Leo asked, patting the bull's warm neck.
"Because you're brave like the storm," the bull replied. "Most children would hide from lightning. You ran toward it. That's what makes adventurers."
Leo realized then that courage wasn't about not being afraid—it was about facing fears and discovering magic on the other side.
Every storm after that, Leo would wait by his window. Sometimes the old bull would appear, and together they would go running through the night, chasing lightning and collecting starlight in their wake. And Leo learned that the best adventures come from being brave enough to say, "Show me what's wonderful," even when things seem scary.
