The Lightning Bull's Message
Lily loved visiting her grandmother's farm, especially the pond where shimmering ripples danced under the sun. One afternoon, she dropped her iPhone in the water while trying to photograph a dragonfly.
"Oh no!" Lily cried, reaching for the sinking device. But as her fingers touched the water, lightning crackled across the clear sky—something that should have been impossible.
Suddenly, the water began to glow. A magnificent bull rose from the pond, its coat shimmering like constellations, its horns crackling with the same lightning that had filled the sky.
"I am Taurus," the bull spoke in a voice like distant thunder. "I've been waiting for someone who still believes in magic."
Lily's eyes widened. "You're real?"
"As real as your imagination," Taurus replied gently. "Long ago, children's dreams powered the stars. But now their eyes are fixed on small glowing screens, and the constellations are fading. I came to find someone who still looks up."
"I love looking at the stars!" Lily said. "My phone... I was just taking pictures, but the real magic is being present, isn't it?"
The lightning bull nodded, its horns dimming. "Exactly. Technology captures memories, but only hearts can make them. Will you help me remind the other children?"
Lily promised she would. As Taurus sank back into the water, lightning struck once more—but this time, it didn't scare her. She understood now: some things are too magical to be captured on any screen.
That night, Lily gathered the neighborhood children. No phones, no tablets—just blankets under the stars as she told them about the lightning bull and the magic of looking up. As their faces glowed with wonder, not from screens but from starlight, the constellation Taurus burned brighter than it had in years.
Some magic, Lily learned, can only be seen when you put down the phone and look up at the sky.
