The Lightning Bull's Magical Game

Lila had the most curious hair in all of Willow Creek. It curled and twirled like telephone wires, and whenever she was excited, tiny sparks seemed to dance at the tips. Her grandmother called it lightning hair, but Lila just thought it was messy.

One afternoon, while running through the meadow near Thunder Mountain, Lila heard the strangest sound—*thwack, thwack, crackle!* Curious, she climbed higher and peeked through the clouds.

There, standing on a floating platform of storm clouds, was the most magnificent creature she had ever seen. A great bull with a coat like midnight and horns that glowed with silver light. But what made Lila gasp was what the bull was doing—he was playing padel!

The bull held a magical paddle in his mouth, batting balls of pure lightning back and forth with the wind itself. *ZAP! WHOOSH!* Each time he hit a lightning ball, tiny stars burst across the sky.

"You're supposed to be hibernating!" said a tiny voice from Lila's shoulder. It was Twinkle, a cloud sprite who had been following her. "Storm bulls only wake up for very important reasons."

The storm bull noticed Lila and lowered his massive head. His eyes were like deep thunderclouds, but kind. "Hello, small one," he rumbled gently. "I am practicing. The Great Lightning Tournament is tomorrow, and I haven't won in three hundred years."

Lila's hair sparked excitedly. "I know padel! My dad teaches me at the community court."

The bull's eyes widened. "Would you... would you practice with me?"

For hours they played—Lila with her ordinary paddle, the bull with his magical one. Lightning balls flew everywhere! The bull taught Lila how to read the wind, and Lila taught the bull about finesse over power.

"You don't always have to hit hard," she explained. "Sometimes a soft touch lands exactly where you want."

The bull practiced his soft shots, and soon he was gently placing lightning balls like puzzle pieces rather than smashing them everywhere.

The next day, the storm bull won the tournament for the first time in centuries. He thanked Lila with a gift—the ability to make tiny lightning sparks dance in her hair whenever she was happy.

Now whenever Lila runs through Willow Creek with her glowing, sparking hair, everyone knows she's remembering her friend the storm bull, and the important lesson they learned together: sometimes the softest touch can create the most magic.
