The Lightning Bug Detective

Emma loved visiting her grandmother's garden at dusk. Fireflies danced above the flowers like tiny floating stars. But tonight, something was wrong. The lightning bugs weren't glowing. They fluttered sadly, their lights dim and weak.

Emma decided to be a spy. She tiptoed behind the big oak tree and watched carefully. There, sitting on a mushroom, was a tiny fairy no bigger than her thumb!

"Oh bother," the fairy sighed. "I've lost my lightning dust. Without it, I can't help the fireflies shine."

Emma stepped forward. "I can help!"

The fairy jumped. "You can see me?"

"Of course!" Emma pulled out her mom's old iPhone from her pocket. "I was taking pictures of flowers. Look, I have an app that catches magical sparkles!" She held up the phone, which showed little glowing dots all around the fairy's feet.

"My lightning dust!" the fairy cried. "But how will we collect it?"

Emma thought hard. Then she remembered something. "My mom gave me a special vitamin this morning. She said it helps you sparkle and shine!" She dug into her pocket and pulled out a bright orange gummy vitamin shaped like a star.

The fairy's eyes widened. "A star-vitamin! Those are very rare. If I mix it with the lightning dust..." She sprinkled the dust onto the vitamin. POOF! A brilliant golden cloud swirled around them.

Emma sneezed from the sparkles. When she opened her eyes, the fairy was glowing brightly.

"Thank you, Emma!" The fairy flew up and showered the lightning bugs with golden light. One by one, they began to glow—brighter than ever before. The garden was magical again, filled with hundreds of tiny twinkling lights.

"Come back tomorrow night," the fairy called. "We have more adventures waiting!"

Emma smiled, watching the garden glow. Sometimes, the best magic happens when you help others shine.
