The Lightning Bear's Spinball Game

Lily loved baseball, but she always played alone in her backyard. One stormy evening, as lightning flashed across the purple sky, something magical happened.

A giant bear tumbled out of the bushes, wearing a dusty baseball cap. "I heard someone playing!" the bear rumbled kindly. "My name is Bruno, and I LOVE baseball!"

Lily's eyes widened. "You can talk?"

"And pitch!" Bruno winked, holding up a glowing baseball. "Want to play?"

They played until Bruno's tummy rumbled loudly. "Oh no! I need my special energy food!" Bruno dug into his pocket and pulled out a bunch of bright green spinach. "Magic spinach from Lightning Mountain. It makes me run fast and hit far!"

Lily made a face. "Spinach? Yuck!"

Bruno laughed. "Just try it! Adventure tastes better when you're brave."

Lily nibbled a leaf. Suddenly, she felt zippy and strong! Lightning bugs danced around them as they played until the stars came out.

"You're my best friend now," Bruno said, giving Lily a high-five. "Remember, magic happens when you try new things!"

From that day on, Lily and Bruno played baseball every evening. And sometimes, when lightning flashed, Bruno would share his magical spinach. Lily learned that being a friend means being brave together, and that even spinach can be wonderful when shared with someone special.
